Hanyul Collaborates with Boksundoga to Launch Limited Edition 'Red Rice Essence Skin'

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Amorepacific's cosmetics brand Hanyul will release a limited edition of the 'Red Rice Essence Skin' in collaboration with the premium traditional liquor brand 'Boksundoga' on the 30th.

This limited edition product from Hanyul was created under the concept of 'Meeting of Fermentation Masters,' born from a collaboration with Boksundoga, which is gaining attention in the premium traditional liquor market by brewing alcohol using traditional fermentation methods. Although cosmetics and traditional liquor are completely different fields, the project found common ground in using domestically grown rice raw materials and dedicating time and care to the fermentation process.

Through this collaboration, Hanyul's signature skin product, Red Rice Essence Skin, and Boksundoga's hand-made Makgeolli each feature an illustration design inspired by 'red rice gradually dyed through fermentation,' and are offered in limited quantities.

When purchasing the limited edition Red Rice Essence Skin, customers will receive a Makgeolli home brewing powder that allows them to easily brew Boksundoga's Makgeolli at home and experience fermentation firsthand. The price is in the 37,000 KRW range.

Hanyul's Red Rice Essence Skin, launched in March 2014, is the brand's representative skin product with cumulative sales exceeding 2 million bottles. It uses red rice, which is brown rice grown through organic contract farming in Yeoju and fermented with red yeast mold called Hongguk-gyun, as the main ingredient. It contains Twice-Fermented Red Rice Essence™, obtained by fermenting red rice twice over 15 days, providing deep hydration as well as enhancing skin defense to keep the skin healthy against external irritants such as fine dust.

From the 14th to the 26th of next month, the 'Hanyul X Boksundoga, Meeting of Fermentation Masters' pop-up store will be held at Amore Seongsu and Amore Store Gwanggyo.
