CEO Kim: "We will achieve continuous management innovation"
[Asia Economy Reporter Na Ye-eun] iFamilySC (iFamily), led by CEO Kim Tae-wook, a singer-turned-entrepreneur well known as the husband of actress Chae Shi-ra, passed the preliminary review for KOSDAQ listing on the 19th. The listing sponsor is Samsung Securities.
iFamily announced on the 26th that it plans to complete the listing process within this year.
Founded in 2000, iFamily started with the wedding business but launched the color cosmetics brand 'Rom&nd' in 2016, centering its business on beauty, IT wedding, and living sectors. 'Rom&nd' is recognized by consumers as a brand that balances cost-effectiveness and product quality, and it is expanding its distribution channels through Olive Young, Coupang, and H&B stores.
As a result, sales of the 'Rom&nd' brand increased from 800 million KRW in 2017, the second year after its launch, to 73.3 billion KRW in 2020, showing more than 100-fold growth in three years. Additionally, iFamily achieved consolidated sales of 79.2 billion KRW and operating profit of 11.6 billion KRW last year, growing 106% and 155% respectively compared to the previous year.
CEO Kim said, "I am pleased that we have safely passed the first hurdle of the preliminary review for KOSDAQ market listing," adding, "In the Market 5.0 era, we will achieve continuous management innovation based on consumer empathy and human-centered non-face-to-face technology or marketing, known as human touch."
He continued, "Even after listing on the KOSDAQ market, we will always quickly keep pace with consumers' ever-changing demands and 'pivot' in various new directions."
