Lee Jae-myung on Ruling Party's Forced Passage of Media Arbitration Act: "I'm Watching... Don't Know Much"
Jin Joong-kwon: "They Said He Was a Prepared Candidate... Still Not Ready"
[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon criticized Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party's presidential candidate and governor of Gyeonggi Province, on the 26th, saying, "He needs to break free from the arrogant illusion that he is prepared and have an objective and realistic understanding of himself and the level of his campaign."
In a post on his Facebook on the same day, former professor Jin said, "Above all, you must know how to respect your opponent. If you mistake the fictitious frame that you imposed on the opposing candidate as reality, you will eventually pay the price," referring to Lee.
Earlier, Lee said regarding the controversial amendment to the Media Arbitration Act, which the ruling party is pushing forward, "I'm not even a lawmaker, so I'm just watching and don't really know much."
During a visit to the Democratic Party lawmakers' workshop held at the National Assembly that morning, Lee told reporters, "The parliamentary affairs will be handled within the parliament."

In response to these remarks, former professor Jin sarcastically said, "Are you joking? You said you were a prepared candidate," adding, "You are still not ready to answer such basic questions. How long should we wait?"
He also predicted, "It seems the primary election outcome is roughly decided, but Lee should clearly draw a line from Cho Kuk, hardline pro-Moon Jae-in factions, and die-hard Moon supporters. Without the support of the moderate voters who are fed up with their double standards, it will be difficult to break out of the current box."
He continued, "You need to get rid of the hardline pro-Moon members who have crawled into the campaign," criticizing, "There is no hope for image reform while those enforcers are causing trouble. If you keep leaning on them, you will face very difficult questions in the general election."
Furthermore, he said, "The pledges need to be revised. They look like pamphlets from student activist groups. You need to remove the activist tone. I will point it out later when I have time," adding, "In a situation where the desire for regime change is high, going with Lee Jae-myung should also appear as a kind of regime change to the public."
Finally, he concluded, "He needs to show that he is different from them, but the Democratic Party and its supporters have turned into a cult-like group that does not allow even that level of strategic flexibility. Ultimately, it is a matter of the candidate's own decision."
