[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jihwan] Kim Migyun, CEO of CJON, did not hesitate to name Lee Donghoon, head of SK Bio Investment Center (Vice President), as his ‘role model’ and ‘mentor’ when asked. Lee is recognized as an expert in corporate mergers and acquisitions (M&A). After working at Samjong KPMG Investment Advisory and serving as CEO of Dong-A Socio Holdings, he currently leads SK Group’s investments related to the bio business.
Kim said he especially wants to emulate Lee’s life approach that prioritizes ‘people.’ He emphasized, "Lee is someone who goes beyond his main job in financial investment to encompass various fields such as history, humanities, and arts, enriching himself with the areas he needs."
In particular, Kim explained, "When people around him face difficulties, he sincerely helps them. He doesn’t limit himself to emotional support but also specifically guides how to plan for the future." For Kim, Lee is a lifelong benefactor who generously offers solutions whenever he encounters problems, both professionally and personally.
Kim also mentioned that Lee’s willingness to spare no time for talent donation is something to learn from. Since February this year, Kim has been participating as a panelist on the ‘Clubha University’ audio channel on the voice social media Clubhouse, operated by Lee, along with Mad Square CEO Ahn Junhee and Filamentree CEO Moon Dooyeol. Clubha University is a virtual university concept that listens to and offers solutions to the concerns of young people in their 20s and 30s.
In the first semester, the channel covered a wide range of knowledge areas, from reading and volunteering to why the US-China hegemonic war occurred, and reviews of four painters representing the Renaissance. In July and August, during the vacation season, it is addressing the topic of financial independence for the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z).
Kim said, "Many MZ generation members have not been able to spend their time meaningfully after planning their financial future. As a senior, I am focusing on sharing the know-how I have gained so far." He added that the most encouraging moments come when juniors say, ‘It would have been a big problem if I hadn’t listened to this channel.’
