17 Years of Dedication... Standing at the Center of System Semiconductors

100 core technology-holding companies, small and medium venture businesses in the BIG 3 sectors (system semiconductors, bio-health, future cars), 100 strong small and medium enterprises in materials, parts, and equipment (SoBuJang), and 1000 innovative national representative companies. These are the descriptions of ThreeAlogics, a specialized system semiconductor company. Recently, ThreeAlogics has continuously been named as a representative company of the Korean New Deal in projects supported by government ministries such as the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and the Financial Services Commission. The reason behind this is its unparalleled technological prowess accumulated in the system semiconductor field. Established in 2004, the 17-year journey of ThreeAlogics is regarded as the footprint of the domestic Near Field Communication (NFC) SoC (System on Chip) industry, which also reflects the recognition of its technology.

Park Kwang-beom, CEO of ThreeAlogics, said, "For the past 17 years, we have focused solely on the localization of NFC semiconductor chips," adding, "Now, NFC chips have become indispensable core semiconductor components in most fields of the Internet of Things (IoT) industry." ThreeAlogics’ success in localizing the NFC reader chip in 2006 and the NFC dynamic tag chip in 2013 for the first time in Korea is an essential part of explaining the company's technological capabilities. By developing these components, which were previously fully dependent on imports, and supplying chips to over 100 domestic and international companies across various fields, the company was able to grow into a specialized system semiconductor company.

NFC semiconductor chips are indispensable for smartphones, smart logistics, and genuine product authentication. They are also used in digital door locks for entrance control and electronic payments such as transportation cards. Leveraging domestic NFC technology, ThreeAlogics has secured a market share of about 70-80% in the domestic door lock market and continues to grow steadily.

The application of NFC is expanding into various fields. Recently, there has been an increase in cases applying it to cold chains such as fresh food transportation and pharmaceutical transportation. This is why ThreeAlogics is expected to continue growing as an innovative company in the digital New Deal sector. CEO Park emphasized, "We will solidify existing markets such as electronic payments, access control, electronic price tags, and smart home appliances, and expand applications to newly emerging areas like automobiles, smart logistics, genuine product authentication, and healthcare, aiming to achieve sales of 100 billion KRW in 2023."

ThreeAlogics is expected to achieve sales of 50 billion KRW this year, which is more than a 70% increase compared to the previous year. Exports are also projected to rise by about 57%, from 5.51 million USD last year to 8.7 million USD this year. The number of employees increased from 36 last year to 45 this year.

This growth of ThreeAlogics was supported by the Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC) in the digital New Deal sector. This year, SBC supported ThreeAlogics’ innovative growth by providing 4.8 billion KRW in growth foundation funds (collaborative) and 3.6 billion KRW in scale-up financing for the establishment and scale-up of the semiconductor cluster within the 2nd Pangyo Techno Valley.
