Democratic Party Reveals List of 12 Members... Need to Check if It Was Fair
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] On the 24th, Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, demanded that the Democratic Party of Korea publicly disclose the full results of the real estate transaction investigation notified by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) as they are.
Through his social media (SNS) on the same day, Lee said, "The public must verify whether the standards applied to the Democratic Party by the ACRC, the standards applied to the People Power Party, and the standards applied to Assemblyman Kim Eui-gyeom were fair."
Lee pointed out that some of the allegations raised by the ACRC did not even meet the criteria for real estate speculation or misconduct.
He emphasized, "We publicly disclosed the ACRC notification results, with the consent of the parties involved, to the public exactly as they were."
Earlier, in June, the Democratic Party had disclosed the names of 12 individuals identified by the ACRC as suspected of violating real estate-related laws, but kept the detailed documents confidential.
Finally, he stated, "If the ACRC's standards were elastic, the public would find it suspicious."
