Changwon Mayor Heo Seong-mu inspected the site damaged by Typhoon Omais on the 24th.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] On the morning of the 24th, Heo Seong-mu, mayor of Changwon City, conducted an emergency inspection of the sites damaged by Typhoon 'Omais'.

From the 23rd to the 24th, as Typhoon 'Omais' made landfall, the Changwon area experienced heavy rainfall with a maximum of 175mm and an average of over 140mm, accompanied by strong winds.

As a result, roads and houses were flooded, and various damages occurred including river overflows and flooding in low-lying areas. Fortunately, there were no casualties due to prompt on-site emergency measures.

Mayor Heo began by inspecting the flooded road area in front of Masan Middle School in Wolyeong-dong, Masanhappo-gu, and then visited other affected areas such as Seokjeon-dong and Pallyong-dong in Uichang-gu to assess the situation.

Mayor Heo ordered support for the affected residents and measures to prevent further damage from additional heavy rain.

He also stated, "We will make every effort to provide comfort to residents through the swift restoration of the areas damaged by Typhoon 'Omais' and to resolve residents' inconveniences by quickly repairing public and private facilities."
