[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] It was announced on the 19th that the urban regeneration New Deal project to transform Yongmeori Yeouiju Village in Wansan-dong, Jeonju City into a livable village is progressing smoothly.

According to Jeonju City, as part of the urban regeneration New Deal project in Yongmeori Yeouiju Village, Seowansan-dong, various projects such as △old house maintenance △street environment improvement △establishment of key spaces △creation of an energy self-sufficient village △installation of smart streetlights are underway.

First, in the case of old house maintenance, support will be provided to a total of 25 households by October.

10 million KRW (with a 10% self-payment) is provided for maintaining the exterior environment of buildings such as fences, gates, external sashes, and rooftop waterproofing, and roof improvement work has been completed for 5 households so far.

Jeonju City is also improving the aging street environment by replacing sidewalk blocks, replacing LED security lights, installing CCTV, installing stair decks, and applying anti-slip pavement.

Along with this, by November, the area that had been neglected with abandoned and vacant houses and weeds will be maintained to build an ecological forest park, enhancing living convenience and focusing on creating key spaces that support leisure activities.

In addition, Yongmeori Yeouiju Village has been selected as an energy self-sufficient village, and support is being provided for the distribution of renewable energy facilities and improvement of energy efficiency. The main focus is on installing solar power generation facilities and internal house repairs through energy efficiency diagnosis for a total of 37 households.

Furthermore, a smart technology support project will be promoted by December, installing 16 smart streetlights equipped with CCTV and safe return home services to respond to emergencies and transform the village into a safe community that can cope with various disasters and accidents.

Meanwhile, Yongmeori Yeouiju Village, selected in 2018 for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's urban regeneration New Deal project contest, will receive a total project cost of 7.5 billion KRW, including 4.5 billion KRW in national funds by this year.
