Self-quarantined individuals must isolate themselves in a separate space for 14 days based on the last contact date with a confirmed case to prevent infection, and must not have contact with outsiders.

In particular, if the quarantine rules are violated, such as unauthorized departure from the quarantine location, they may face up to one year of imprisonment or a fine of up to 10 million won under the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act.

Additionally, unauthorized departure from quarantine and concealment or false statements during epidemiological investigations may result in claims for compensation for quarantine costs and damages due to violation of quarantine rules.

The county is also strictly cracking down on violations of quarantine rules such as restrictions on private gathering numbers and rules for multi-use facilities, which must be strictly observed.

A Jindo-gun official said, “We will prevent further spread of COVID-19 through strengthened quarantine measures and take zero-tolerance legal action against those who violate quarantine rules.”

Meanwhile, civic groups in Jindo-gun are also posting banners and conducting campaigns to practice compliance with quarantine rules to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
