[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] The Islamic militant group Taliban has effectively taken control of the entire region of Afghanistan and has now entered the last remaining capital city, Kabul.

According to major foreign news agencies including the AP on the 15th, the Taliban began advancing into the outskirts of Kabul on this day.

Major foreign media, citing officials from the Afghan Ministry of Interior, reported that the Taliban started entering Kabul from all directions.

The AP also confirmed this fact by quoting authorities, stating that "there is no fighting yet."

In this regard, the leader of the Taliban's political office in Doha, Qatar, which serves as their external communication channel, reportedly issued orders to "avoid violence in Kabul city and allow safe passage for those wishing to escape," according to major foreign news agencies.

The Taliban captured the strategic city of Ghazni (the capital of Ghazni Province), located 150 km southwest of Kabul, on the 12th, and the next day took control of Pul-e-Alam, the capital of Logar Province, 50 km from Kabul, thereby pressuring the metropolitan area.

The previous day, they engaged in combat with government forces in the Logar Province area, 11 km south of Kabul.

The Taliban currently control all major cities and border posts except for Kabul.
