[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] At around 1:48 PM on the 15th, an express train on Seoul Metropolitan Subway Line 1, heading from Yongsan Station to Cheonan Station, stopped due to an electrical supply device malfunction.
According to Korail, the accident occurred when a fuse blew on the train that had arrived at the Yongsan Station platform, causing a momentary power outage.
Approximately 150 passengers on the train transferred to a following train, and no casualties were reported.
However, during the process of moving the faulty train to the train depot, the Cheongnyangni Station (underground) to Cheonan Station line was delayed by about 15 minutes before service resumed.
A Korail official stated, "The entire line is currently operating normally," and added, "We are analyzing the cause of the malfunction in the faulty train."
