Startup Services Taking Charge of Laundry and Cleaning Gain Popularity

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Startup services responsible for household chores such as laundry and cleaning are gaining popularity. As the COVID-19 pandemic prolonged, the time spent at home increased significantly, leading to a surge in users and fierce competition among various services to differentiate themselves.

Unisikju Company (CEO Jo Seong-woo), which operates the non-face-to-face mobile laundry service 'Laundrigo,' recently surpassed 3 million dry cleaning orders. Currently, Laundrigo processes laundry orders from an average of 48,000 households per month and 1,800 households per day. The order volume has been increasing by more than 20% monthly, recently exceeding a cumulative 3 million dry cleaning items and 73 million tons of water laundry.

To celebrate this milestone, Laundrigo is offering a 50% discount promotion on dry cleaning until the 19th. The discounted items include knits, sweaters, coats, and padded clothing, with unlimited discounts regardless of quantity.

Recently, Laundrigo expanded its service areas to include Seoul, Ilsan, Bundang, Pangyo, Wirye, Songdo International City, Paju Unjeong New City, Gwangmyeong City, Gimpo City, and additionally to Geumgok-dong and Gumi-dong in Bundang-gu, Seongnam City, Jukjeon in Yongin City, and Misa Riverside New City in Hanam. Furthermore, the company plans to open its second smart factory in Seongsu-dong this month and accelerate regional expansion by the end of the year.

Life Research Institute (CEO Yeon Hyun-joo), which operates the home cleaning service 'Cleaning Lab,' recently launched its third self-produced product, the 'Cleaning Lab All-Purpose Dishcloth Tissue.' While operating Cleaning Lab, Life Research Institute produces and sells cleaning supplies that cleaning managers and customers can use with confidence. So far, they have produced and launched multi-purpose cleaners and safe sterilizing disinfectants.

The newly released pull-out dishcloth tissue by Life Research Institute can be used for various purposes, from kitchen appliances such as gas stoves and microwaves to dining tables, tiled walls, window frames, and children's toys. It features a 99% high sterilization effect and powerful cleaning ability due to the inclusion of baking soda and ethanol.

To commemorate the launch of the all-purpose dishcloth tissue, Life Research Institute is also conducting a free giveaway event. Customers can download a 'Dishcloth Tissue Free Coupon' from the app and receive the product within one week after completing a Cleaning Lab reservation. Separate purchases are also available in the store.

Life Research Institute plans to continuously release various products, including cleaning tools and detergents, through analysis and research on household labor.
