[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Ju-cheol In] Nurse A (male, in his 30s), who was dispatched to work at a temporary living facility for COVID-19, is under police investigation on charges of committing a sexual crime against a female colleague.
According to the Yongin Eastern Police Station on the 12th, Mr. A is accused of forcibly molesting female colleague B, who was asleep, at a temporary COVID-19 living facility accommodation in Yongin City on the night of the 8th.
CCTV installed within the facility reportedly captured Mr. A entering B’s room after drinking with staff and returning to the accommodation.
The victim, who woke up on the morning of the 9th, noticed something unusual such as some of her clothes being removed and reported the incident to the police.
The temporary living facility where they worked is a space where overseas arrivals stay in quarantine for two weeks from their date of entry to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
A police official stated, “We will analyze the CCTV to determine specific details such as the time of the crime,” and added, “We also plan to investigate whether Mr. A violated the Level 4 social distancing quarantine rules during the drinking gathering.”
