eBay Korea Launches Standard Shipping Service to UK and Canada

eBay Korea Launches Standard Shipping Service to UK and Canada eBay Korea is launching the standard delivery service of its own global integrated shipping system, eGS, in the UK and Canada.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] eBay Korea announced on the 9th that it will open the standard shipping service of its own global integrated shipping system eGS (eBay Korea Global Shipping Program) in the UK and Canada to help domestic small and medium sellers export overseas.

eGS is a global integrated shipping system first introduced by eBay Korea in the domestic e-commerce market in May last year. It directly contracts with shipping companies that provide excellent service quality and offers competitive shipping rates to domestic eBay sellers. It provides a reasonable standard service and a fast, high-quality express service.

By using the eGS standard service for shipping to Canada and the UK, sellers can save on shipping costs by more than 5,000 KRW per 1kg compared to using general international shipping. Despite the COVID-19 situation, the average delivery time for the standard service is up to 14 days, ensuring safe and fast delivery. Especially for eBay sellers, various services such as automatic order information linkage and shipping application on the website, domestic courier pickup requests, export declaration number registration, and automatic registration of the Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS) number are available.

An eBay Korea official said, “With the opening of the eGS service, it will be a great opportunity for sellers who wish to enter the UK and Canadian markets, especially those facing difficulties with UK shipping due to the complicated Brexit process. We will continue to strive to provide the best service through continuous service improvements reflecting the diverse needs of eBay sellers.”
