Gyeongnam Province Completes Design-Led Product Development Consulting for 100 Manufacturing Companies

Gyeongnam Province Leads Innovation by Integrating Design into Manufacturing Industry Opening Ceremony of the Manufacturing Innovation Center.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 6th that it has been promoting the Design-Driven Manufacturing Innovation Support Project this year in collaboration with the Korea Institute of Design Promotion Gyeongnam Design-Driven Manufacturing Innovation Center (Gyeongnam Center).


The Design-Driven Manufacturing Innovation Support Project aims to strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium manufacturing enterprises through support for design utilization. The project provides design consulting (counseling), demand-tailored corporate support (design development), and promotion and marketing support.


As a result of recruiting participating companies in February this year, a total of 206 companies applied.


The province selected 100 companies among them and conducted corporate capability diagnosis consulting from May to June with a budget of 3 million KRW per company.


The province conducted two evaluations for 30 small and medium manufacturing companies in the province that completed consulting last year and this year, and on the 28th of last month, finally selected 38 companies as beneficiaries of demand-tailored product development support.


The 38 companies finally selected will receive demand-tailored support projects with a maximum limit of 30 million KRW per company as well as promotion and marketing support.


The demand-tailored support project is a design development project for finished product manufacturing companies, a finished product design development support project for parts and materials companies, and a project supporting the development of new products by manufacturing companies possessing root technology.


Sung Heung-taek, head of the Small and Medium Venture Business Division of Gyeongnam Province, stated, "Through this project, we hope to create an opportunity for small and medium manufacturing companies in the province to further strengthen their competitiveness and grow into companies that create high added value."
