Hana Bank Establishes 'Digital Innovation TFT,' a Dedicated Metaverse Team Hana Bank Digital Experience Headquarters unit leaders are taking a commemorative photo after finishing the headquarters meeting, with unit leader avatars gathered together.


[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Hana Bank announced on the 6th that it has established a 'Digital Innovation TFT' within the Digital Experience Headquarters to actively participate in the metaverse ecosystem, a new trend in the ontact era.


The 'Digital Innovation TFT,' a dedicated metaverse team, plans to review and promote various approaches including ▲business cooperation and investment directions with companies holding core technologies ▲seminars, lectures, and consultation services for PB clients ▲establishing experiential spaces (Culture Bank, Club One, Hana Dream Town, etc.) to communicate with MZ generation customers ▲sales support using AR·VR technologies (linked with My Branch, CRM).


To begin with, the newly established 'Digital Innovation TFT' started internal activities using the metaverse platform to raise employees' interest and understanding of the metaverse. At the Digital Experience Headquarters unit leader meeting, leaders accessed the metaverse platform 'ifland' and freely conversed while sharing their prepared materials using their avatars. Given the increased importance of non-face-to-face interactions due to COVID-19, the bank plans to actively utilize this not only at the head office but also in sales site meetings in the future.


Additionally, Hana Bank is transitioning its weekend voluntary training program, currently operated to improve employees' work skills, from the existing video training method to a metaverse-based approach. Recently, metaverse training was conducted considering the characteristics of digitally savvy MZ generation employees, incorporating fun elements as if participating in a game through avatars to enhance lecture engagement. The bank plans to expand the use of the metaverse in education fields such as knowledge forums and leadership courses.


A representative of Hana Bank's Digital Innovation TFT said, “The establishment of this organization aims to understand and actively respond to the mindset of the MZ generation, who are familiar with new environments such as ontact and virtual reality,” adding, “Beyond simply creating virtual bank branches or using meeting spaces, we plan to derive mid- to long-term tasks based on a thorough understanding of related industries and proceed with projects step by step.”
