[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters is conducting the 2022 Business Support Project contest until the 2nd of next month.
According to Hanul Headquarters on the 6th, the Business Support Project is a support program implemented with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power’s own funds based on the "Act on Support for Areas Surrounding Power Plants," aimed at revitalizing the economy of areas surrounding nuclear power plants and improving the welfare of local residents to coexist with the region.
The 2022 Business Support Project budget of Hanul Headquarters is a total of 16.042 billion KRW, an increase of 1.396 billion KRW compared to the previous year. The contest fields include six categories: ▲Education and Scholarship Projects ▲Regional Economic Cooperation Projects ▲Surrounding Environment Improvement Projects ▲Regional Welfare Projects ▲Regional Culture Promotion Projects ▲Other Support Projects.
This year, Hanul Headquarters will hold briefing sessions at the Hanul Nuclear Power Plant Exhibition Hall auditorium on the 10th and 11th to enhance understanding of the projects among local institutions, organizations, and residents and to encourage active participation. On the 10th at 10 a.m., explanations on culture, events, and environment fields are scheduled, and on the 11th at 10 a.m., explanations on economy, education, and welfare fields will be held.
Park Beom-su, head of Hanul Headquarters, stated, "In 2022, we will actively discover and focus support on projects that can revitalize the local economy, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19 (universal welfare, increasing residents’ income, and job creation), as well as projects for residents who are in blind spots of government and local government policies."
