Superintendent Park Jong-hoon Inspects Campus-Type After-School Programs in Haman

"New Approach to Campus-Style After-School Programs" Encouragement for Coordinators and University Student Mentors

Gyeongsangnam-do Superintendent of Education Park Jong-hoon is inspecting the campus-type after-school program and talking with the person in charge.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Park Jong-hoon, Superintendent of Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education, visited the campus-type after-school program operated by the Haman Education Support Office on the 4th to review the program and encourage the staff and university student mentors.

The office launched the campus-type after-school program on the 2nd as an interactive online class using iTalkTalk.

Originally, the plan was to gather students from multiple schools at a central location to conduct the courses, but due to the recent worsening COVID-19 situation, the program has been switched to and is currently operating as an interactive online class.

Superintendent Park visited the online activity support room for the campus-type after-school program to carefully inspect the course materials and operating programs.

He also discussed the future progress of the campus-type after-school program project.

The Haman campus-type after-school program currently has 110 students participating, ranging from 4th grade elementary to 3rd grade middle school students.

University student mentors have been selected and supported to help students actively participate in the online classes.

Superintendent Park said, “University student mentors seem to be able to resolve various issues that arise as students participate in online classes to some extent,” adding, “This will be a new attempt regarding the direction the campus-type after-school program should take.”

He also urged, “Please reflect the opinions of participating students and parents well to compensate for the shortcomings of online classes.”
