[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 5th that it will recruit participants for the non-face-to-face live cooking class 'Dad's Home Restaurant' on a first-come, first-served basis.
This cooking class provides meal kits containing the necessary materials for the class to each household along with nutrition education. Participants will watch real-time Zoom video lessons by a nutritionist, directly prepare the ingredients, and follow the cooking process, allowing them to learn and practice various cooking methods.
With the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, the program emphasizes the importance of forming proper eating habits by inducing changes in awareness about healthy eating through nutrition management and tailored information necessary for health promotion. It is expected that busy working fathers who frequently eat out will be able to spend time with their children while improving their ability to manage healthy eating habits through nutrition education, thereby forming a balanced diet and improving nutrition-related dietary issues.
The application target is men in their 20s to 40s with children residing in the district, and applications will be accepted by phone from 9 a.m. on the 9th for the first 20 applicants.
Gu In-mo, the mayor of Geochang-gun, said, “I hope that the cooking methods learned through practice and education will be utilized at home to help achieve proper nutrition intake and create a healthier and more harmonious family,” adding, “We will continue to do our best in managing the nutrition of our residents.”
