[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The owner of a used bookstore building in Jongno-gu, Seoul, who was at the center of controversy for a mural defaming Kim Geon-hee, wife of former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, withdrew the complaint against the YouTuber who damaged the mural on the 5th.

The bookstore building owner, Ms. Yeo, said in a phone call with Asia Economy on the same day, "I officially submitted the withdrawal of the complaint this morning." She added, "The employees were very distressed," and "I want to live quietly now."

Earlier, on the 31st of last month, Ms. Yeo reported YouTuber A to the police on suspicion of damaging the mural by painting over it with black paint on the bookstore wall where the 'Julie mural' was installed. It was reported that A painted over and erased the part with the woman's face drawing and the phrase 'Julie's Men.'

Meanwhile, the Jongno Police Station in Seoul is known to have investigated A the day before. Since property damage is not a semi-indictable offense that cannot be punished without the victim's desire, investigation and punishment are possible.
