[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyungsoo] Dexter Studio, a visual effects (VFX) and content specialist company, is experiencing a continuous rise in its stock price. The news that it has signed a strategic business agreement with XR content specialist company Bibimble to strengthen its metaverse technology competitiveness appears to have influenced the stock price.
As of 10:27 AM on the 5th, Dexter is trading at 15,300 KRW, up 17.24% from the previous day.
Dexter Studio signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Bibimble yesterday afternoon at its headquarters in Sangam-dong, Seoul, for "metaverse (a compound word of meta meaning virtual/abstract and universe meaning the real world) related technology R&D and open world construction."
Dexter Studio is an all-in-one comprehensive content company responsible for everything from content planning, filming, production, to post-production. It has been leading the immersive media business such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and extended reality (XR). In particular, it has consistently participated in immersive content production using Unreal Engine and Unity programs, as well as private companies and government service projects.
Bibimble is an XR content specialist company that developed the exhibition-based metaverse "ViveTech Real Platform" using Unreal Engine, transforming the exhibition market. It is pioneering various fields by developing not only spatial metaverse but also interactive hologram performances, hologram rhythm games, and AI digital humans.
Through the business agreement, Dexter Studio and Bibimble will collaborate on creating 3D characters similar to real people, producing and optimizing 3D character environments, and jointly developing online motion capture synchronization technology to be used on platforms. The technology development will focus on hyper-realism graphics, and the 3D characters produced will be utilized in XR home shopping, conferences, lectures, K-pop performances, and more.
Kim Wook and Kang Jongik, representatives of Dexter Studio, said, "Dexter Studio has consistently pursued immersive content business in addition to its core VFX field. Through the partnership with Bibimble, which possesses fundamental metaverse technology, we will expand our scope and strive to become a leading company in the metaverse market."

Dexter Studio released its fifth production, "Mogadishu," on the 28th of last month. "Mogadishu" depicts a life-or-death escape of people trapped in the capital Mogadishu during the Somali civil war in the 1990s. It surpassed 1 million viewers within 7 days of release, setting the highest box office record among Korean films released this year and continues to attract audiences.
