[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Amorepacific delivered support gifts to medical staff battling COVID-19 amid the heatwave.

On the 5th, Amorepacific announced that it had presented red ginseng sets to medical personnel and epidemiological investigators in the Yongsan area through the Yongsan Volunteer Center.

In Yongsan District, about 400 medical staff, epidemiological investigators, and volunteers work at the Yongsan Public Health Center, temporary screening clinics, and vaccination centers. Accordingly, Amorepacific, together with the Yongsan regional volunteer group ‘Yongsan Dragons,’ delivered approximately 20 million KRW worth of ‘Vitalbeauty Cheonsamaek Set’ to the temporary screening clinic at Yongsan Station and other locations. Member companies of Yongsan Dragons, including Samil Accounting Corporation, Orion Foundation, Korail Networks, National Health Insurance Service Yongsan Branch, and LG Uplus, also contributed masks, energy bars, sandwiches, and beverages as gifts.

Jung-hwa Oh, Executive Director of Amorepacific’s Sustainability Division, said, “Since the social distancing level was raised to Level 4, burnout among medical staff suffering from the heat and heavy workloads has become severe. Therefore, we prepared red ginseng sets hoping that the medical staff can recover some health and energy.”

Yongsan Dragons is a coalition volunteer group formed in 2018, with about 900 volunteers from over 70 companies, schools, and institutions participating. Through activities such as guerrilla gardening, mystery sharing buses, and the plastic cup waste Olympics, they have taken the lead in solving community issues. In the second half of this year, they plan to participate in the Seoul City Design Governance project to prevent child abuse and will continue cooperative social contribution activities as a role model for coexistence with the local community.

Meanwhile, separately, Amorepacific plans to deliver 10,000 moisturizing creams ‘Estra Atobarrier’ to 73 medical institutions of the Korean Nurses Association through the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association.
