[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Lotte Department Store Gwangju Branch and four Lotte Mart stores in Gwangju (World Cup, Suwan, Cheomdan, Sangmu) have started pre-order sales to capture the Chuseok gift boom.
In particular, this Chuseok, due to the resurgence of COVID-19, it is expected that the phenomenon of ‘contactless holiday’ will continue, where people send their hearts through gifts rather than visiting their hometowns directly. Accordingly, the number of set items and quantities available for pre-order has been increased by up to 20% compared to last year.
First, Lotte Department Store Gwangju will conduct pre-order sales at the food section on the basement first floor from the 6th to the 26th of this month.
This Chuseok, the ‘Hanwoo Tomahawk T-bone Steak Set’ will be introduced for the first time. This is because the demand from customers who want to spend the holiday elegantly with only their immediate family instead of visiting their hometown has increased.
During the pre-order period for gift sets, customers can purchase not only the ‘steak set’ but also various Hanwoo sets at a 15% discounted price. Wines for home drinking and staying at home will also be sold at discounts of up to 60% by item during the period.
Various products such as health sets with up to 70% discount and dried yellow corvina sets with 20% discount will be sold at special discounted prices, and regional specialties such as Jangsu Hanwoo and Jeonnam local food will be newly introduced as gift sets.
For customers hesitant to visit stores crowded during the holiday period, a ‘home payment service’ is available, allowing gift sets to be purchased in a completely contactless manner.
The four Lotte Mart stores in the Gwangju area will also conduct pre-order sales of Chuseok gift sets until the 8th of next month.
The number of pre-order items has been expanded by about 20% compared to last year, preparing a total of about 900 items including fresh foods such as Hanwoo and fruits, processed foods, and health foods.
During the pre-order sales period, customers who pay with event cards will receive gift certificates worth up to 1.5 million KRW and enjoy discounts of up to 30%.
Han Bok-yang, head of the food team at Lotte Department Store Gwangju, said, “Despite the difficult situation, we have carefully prepared gift products with the sincerity of customers who want to express gratitude to their precious ones,” and added, “We hope everyone has a warmer and more abundant Chuseok as much as their hearts.”
