[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] Former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol recently responded to controversies over his demeanor, such as "jjeokbeol (legs spread wide)" and "doridori (head nodding)," by self-satirizing on social media. In addition, after continuous criticism regarding various remarks and the timing of his party entry, he has been receiving image consulting and is planning a four-day summer vacation starting from the 5th, putting all efforts into renewal.

On the 3rd, Yoon posted a photo of his dog "Tori" with its legs spread wide on Tori’s Instagram account, writing, "Jjeokbeol Mari. Mari can go up to 180 degrees!" In the hashtags he added, he wrote "#Dad'sGenes," "#SinceFiveThousandYearsAgo," and said, "Please look forward to seeing Dad and Mari improve every day!" followed by "Reducing by 0.1 centimeters daily."

This appears to reflect his determination to overcome the controversy over his habit of spreading his legs wide at events. Yoon is also using his dog’s account to openly address the points of controversy and lighten the mood. Besides the "jjeokbeol" controversy, he referred to himself by the nickname "Dori" to offset the earlier criticism over the "doridori" behavior.

Yoon was criticized for his leg-spreading posture at recent official events, including a "chimaek meeting" press conference with Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party. On the 2nd, while touring the National Assembly members’ office building for his party entry ceremony, he received advice from Democratic Party lawmaker Cho Eung-cheon to "please close your legs a little." On the same day, Democratic Party lawmaker Jung Cheong-rae criticized on Facebook, "Fix your sitting posture... it’s unsightly. What are your aides doing?"

Regarding this, Kim Kyung-jin, former lawmaker and external cooperation special advisor to Yoon’s campaign, said on YTN Radio’s "Hwang Bo-seon’s Start New Morning" on the 4th, "Since most people prefer a neat posture, if Yoon’s posture is not neat, he should make an effort to correct it."

It is known that Yoon recently received image consulting from experts due to ongoing controversies over his remarks and demeanor. He is also scheduled to take a summer vacation from the 5th to the 8th for political renewal.

A campaign official from Yoon’s side said, "Since starting as a politician, he has been running non-stop for a month and a half, during which there have been many changes, criticisms, and encouragements," adding, "He plans to take a short break to decide how to move forward." He explained, "He will consider measures for various controversies, what efforts are needed to embrace centrism and expand his base, and what is necessary for a politician until March next year."
