Suwon-si Issues 'Gathering Ban Administrative Order' for Karaoke Rooms... Until the 15th Suwon City Hall


[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province has issued an administrative order banning gatherings at all singing practice rooms in the city until the 15th to prevent the spread of COVID-19.


On the 4th, Suwon City announced that from 6 PM on the 4th until 12 PM on the 15th, an administrative order banning gatherings has been issued targeting the owners, workers, and visitors of 721 singing practice rooms in the jurisdiction.


Violating the administrative order will result in a fine of up to 3 million KRW under the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act. Additionally, claims for compensation for costs arising from infection transmission will be filed.


A city official stated, "There have been numerous infection cases caused by close contact among users at singing practice rooms, increasing the risk of further spread in the community, making urgent measures necessary," and urged, "Please avoid gathering with others as much as possible and strictly follow quarantine guidelines."


Previously, since the first confirmed case was reported on the 18th of last month at a PC room and singing room in Yeongtong-gu, 17 additional cases were confirmed over the following fifteen days. At another singing room in Yeongtong-gu, after one visitor was confirmed positive on the 20th of last month, 20 more confirmed cases were reported by the 3rd.
