Gwangju Seo-gu Officials Donate Congratulatory Flower Pots to Disabled Welfare Facilities

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Seo Dae-seok) announced on the 4th that it donated about 70 flowerpots, contributed by its public officials, to 14 welfare facilities for the disabled in the district on the 3rd to support social welfare facilities.

This special donation involved flowerpots received as congratulatory gifts by employees who were promoted or transferred in last month's regular personnel reshuffle. It was promoted with the hope that facility residents, who are experiencing psychological difficulties due to COVID-19, would wisely overcome the COVID blues by watching the plants grow.

A worker at a welfare facility for the disabled who participated in the delivery ceremony said, "I am very grateful because these flowerpots will become another friend to those who were struggling due to the limited operation of welfare facilities such as social distancing."

A Seo-gu official said, "We are pleased to deliver flowerpots, which employees gathered their intentions to donate for the first time, to those going through difficult times," and added, "We thank the employees who participated in this warm and meaningful sharing."
