Kwon Seong-dong Supports Yoon in 'Moon Apology Demand' Protest: "Druking Bigger Than NIS Comment Scandal"

On the morning of the 4th, former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol visited the solo protest site of Kwon Seong-dong, a member of the People Power Party, in front of the Cheongwadae Sarangchae, where he was urging President Moon Jae-in to apologize for the 'Druking presidential election opinion manipulation case.'

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] Kwon Seong-dong, a member of the People Power Party, continued his solo protest in front of the Blue House, urging President Moon Jae-in to apologize for the guilty verdict related to the 'Druking' comment manipulation conspiracy. At the protest site, Yoon Seok-youl, a presidential candidate from the opposition party and former Prosecutor General, also visited to show support.

On the morning of the 4th, Representative Kwon held a placard in front of the Blue House that read, "President, why do you pretend not to know about Druking's election opinion manipulation that destroyed democracy? Apologize!" This was the second protest by the People Power Party, following the one started by Representative Jeong Jin-seok on the 29th of last month.

He said, "Politically and morally, someone should ultimately take responsibility and issue an apology, but perhaps they are worried about issues related to the legitimacy of the regime."

Former Prosecutor General Yoon, who stopped by the site that day, told Representative Kwon, "During the National Intelligence Service (NIS) comment incident, this case is much larger in scale, yet back then there was such an uproar." He added, "At that time, former President Park Geun-hye said, 'Are you saying I was elected because of comments?' and was heavily attacked for that."

He had previously visited Representative Jeong's solo protest site and remarked, "I have investigated election fraud cases in the past, but in terms of opinion manipulation, this cannot be compared to the NIS comment incident, which causes the public to question the government's legitimacy."
