"Solo Creators, Challenge Contests with Clean Content"

[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] The Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Radio Promotion Association announced on the 4th that they will conduct a solo creator campaign for about four months from the 5th to the end of November to spread a healthy one-person media industry ecosystem.

This campaign will be carried out through a video contest for creators who produce and share one-person media content and influencer supporter activities.

Anyone who owns a one-person media channel can participate in the contest by producing a video on the theme of clean content and publishing it on their own channel until the 18th of next month. Clean content refers to content that contributes to a healthy one-person media ecosystem without fake news, false or exaggerated advertisements, etc.

The evaluation will be based on the public interest and completeness of the video, as well as the campaign dissemination activities such as views, shares, and comments on the video. Among the excellent participants, the grand prize (1 team) will receive the Minister of Science and ICT Award and a prize of 5 million won, and a total of 10 teams will be awarded prizes totaling 18 million won.

The one-person media clean content supporters include a total of 10 star-level one-person media creators from various genres such as Hey Jini, MyrinTV, SanjeokTV Bapgubnam, and Han Yoo Ra, who lead content culture through the production and sharing of healthy one-person media content.

The supporters will sequentially release promotional videos explaining the purpose and participation methods of the campaign, as well as campaign participation videos containing various stories related to ‘clean content’ and ideas for spreading clean content. Through the relay video release, the clean content contest and campaign will be promoted.

Oh Yong-su, Director of Broadcasting Promotion Policy at the Ministry of Science and ICT, said, “As the social influence of creators has increased due to the rapid growth of one-person media recently, it is an important time for creators to produce and distribute content more responsibly.” He added, “We hope to create a sound digital media ecosystem together through this campaign, which will be conducted based on the interest and participation of both one-person media creators and consumers.”
