On the 3rd, Jeong Jae-hoon, President of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, and others visited the construction sites of Gori Units 3 and 4, and Shin-Gori Units 5 and 6 to conduct a special inspection.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) conducted a special inspection on the 3rd at the Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters and the Saeul Nuclear Power Headquarters.
Following the special inspections last month at the Wolseong, Hanul, and Hanbit Nuclear Power Headquarters, President Jeong Jae-hoon launched a special summer inspection to ensure stable power supply and create a safe construction environment in preparation for summer power demand.
The inspection checked the status of Gori Units 3 and 4, which are undergoing planned preventive maintenance, and visited the construction sites of Shin-Gori Units 5 and 6 to review industrial safety management, including measures against heat-related illnesses due to the heatwave.
The inspection team also encouraged workers, including subcontractor employees sweating under the hot conditions, by providing snacks and other refreshments.
President Jeong Jae-hoon of KHNP said, “Let us focus on completing the ongoing planned preventive maintenance according to schedule and ensure the safe construction of the power plants to contribute to the safe operation of nuclear power plants and stable power supply.”
KHNP plans to continue conducting on-site special inspections not only at nuclear power headquarters but also at dams and pumped-storage power plants in the Han River basin.
