Suncheon-si Implements "Early Life Health Management Project"

[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 3rd that it has been selected for the Ministry of Health and Welfare's public project, the 'Early Life Health Management Project,' and has been actively promoting it since last month.

The 'Early Life Health Management Project' is a program in which nurses and social workers who have completed specialized training visit households with pregnant women and infants under the age of two to provide customized health management services, including basic education on childcare.

When applying for this service, a dedicated team visits the home to check the health status of the baby and mother and provides consultation services related to breastfeeding, childcare environment, and baby care.

Pregnant women and families with newborns residing in the area can receive the service free of charge, and currently, applications are being accepted from pregnant women registered at the public health center to provide the service.

A public health center official stated, "To support healthy childbirth and childcare, we provide customized home visit health management services starting from pregnancy and infancy, the starting point of lifelong health. We especially expect this to be of great help to first-time parents struggling with childcare."

For service applications and detailed information, please contact the Birth Promotion Team at the city public health center.
