[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, will operate the Gajo Oncheon Tourist Site footbath free of charge on weekends from the 7th to the 31st as a trial.

The Gajo Oncheon footbath covers an area of 270㎡ and can accommodate about 100 people. It has two cold water pools (26℃) and two hot water pools (40℃), and it is Geochang-gun's first hot spring footbath where visitors can experience soaking their feet in hot spring water. It was completed in July.

The hot spring water used in the footbath is the only domestic hot spring water with a pH of 9.7, making it strongly alkaline and low-irritant, which is beneficial for the skin.

It is especially suitable for the elderly and people with sensitive skin, and it has excellent effects on fatigue recovery, neuralgia, rheumatism, allergic dermatitis, and chronic eczema.

The trial operation period will last throughout August, operating every weekend from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for residents and visitors to the Gajo Oncheon Tourist Site. Feedback from users will be collected to prepare for official operation starting in September.

During the trial operation period, users must comply with COVID-19 prevention guidelines while using the facility.

Jo Ho-kyung, Director of the Culture and Tourism Division, stated, “We hope the Gajo Oncheon Tourist Site footbath will become a healing space where visitors can enjoy the beautiful nature of Geochang Y-shaped Suspension Bridge, Udusan Mountain, Janggunbong Peak, and relax.”
