[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) is making every effort to establish a thorough quarantine system in line with the implementation of 'Social Distancing Level 3' due to the spread of COVID-19 outside the metropolitan area.
According to Naju City quarantine authorities on the 3rd, special inspections are being conducted until the 8th, the end date of Social Distancing Level 3, to check compliance with quarantine rules at multi-use and cultural facilities.
Unannounced inspections are focused on whether quarantine guidelines are being followed at 348 cultural facilities including karaoke rooms, PC rooms, arcade game rooms (91 locations), religious facilities (251 locations), movie theaters, and museums (6 locations), as well as 2,062 multi-use facilities such as restaurants, entertainment, and nightclubs.
The main inspection items include mask-wearing, availability of disinfectants, social distancing and operating hours compliance within business premises, visitor list management (manual, QR code, Safe Call), ventilation, and disinfection.
In particular, PC rooms, arcades (multi-rooms), movie theaters, and academies, which have no operating hour restrictions, are being strictly guided and managed according to facility-specific guidelines.
The quarantine authorities are focusing on preemptive mass testing and disinfection of workplaces to block community spread following recent cluster infections among foreign workers.
Mobile screening clinics for foreign workers in Dongsu and Oryang Industrial Complexes and weekly mass testing for foreigners attending Muslim events are also being conducted once a week.
Naju region entered 'Social Distancing Level 3' until midnight on the 8th, following the Jeollanam-do administrative order issued on the 27th of last month to prevent COVID-19 infection and community spread.
Private gatherings are allowed up to '4 people,' the same as Level 2. Except for direct family gatherings (up to 8 people), reservations and accompanying entries of 5 or more people at multi-use facilities such as restaurants are prohibited.
The operating hours for five types of entertainment facilities (entertainment, nightclubs, emotional pubs, clubs, hunting pubs), as well as colatecs and coin karaoke rooms, have been shortened by 2 hours from midnight to 10 p.m. (until 5 a.m. the next day).
Restaurants (general food, cafes, bakeries, etc.) are also only allowed takeout and delivery from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day.
For wedding and funeral halls, attendance is limited to 'less than 50 people,' with one person per 4 square meters of facility area.
Religious facilities may hold worship, mass, or Buddhist services with up to 20% of total seating capacity, and separate gatherings, meals, or overnight stays after events are prohibited.
Workplaces with 50 or more employees, excluding manufacturing, are recommended to implement staggered commuting, staggered lunch breaks, and 20% telecommuting.
