159 Days After the First Domestic Vaccination

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] The number of people in South Korea who have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine has surpassed 20 million. This record was achieved 159 days after vaccinations began on February 26.
According to the COVID-19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team's provisional tally as of 10:20 AM on the 3rd, the cumulative number of people who received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine reached 20,004,714. This corresponds to 39% of the total population. Among them, 7,216,679 people have completed their vaccinations, resulting in a completion rate of 14.1%.
The Promotion Team stated, "Thanks to the public who trusted experts and the government and actively participated in vaccination, as well as the nationwide entrusted medical institutions, vaccination centers, public health center medical staff, and workers who safely carried out the vaccinations, we have achieved 20 million vaccinations." They added, "Through thorough preparation including vaccine supply management, we will do our best to achieve the early goal of administering the first dose to more than 36 million people by September."
