[Golf Topic] 'Samdasu Champ' Oh Ji-hyun "World Ranking Jumps 35 Spots~"... Korda 'Number 1'


[Asia Economy Golf Specialist Reporter Kim Hyun-jun] ○…‘Jeju Samdasoo Masters Champion’ Oh Ji-hyun (25, KB Financial Group, photo) soared 35 spots in the world rankings.


In the weekly women's golf world rankings announced on the 3rd (Korean time), she earned 1.16 points and jumped from 151st place last week to 116th place in one leap. On the 1st, at Urideul Golf Club in Seogwipo City, Jeju Island (par 72, 6,506 yards), she added 4 under par on the final day of the KLPGA Tour Jeju Samdasoo Masters (total prize money 900 million won) to achieve a 3-stroke victory (17 under par 271), accumulating points. This is her 7th career win, the first in three years since this tournament in August 2018.


The ‘Top 5’ remain unchanged with Nelly Korda (USA) at 1st, Ko Jin-young (26) 2nd, Park In-bee (33, KB Financial Group) 3rd, Kim Sei-young (28, Mediheal) 4th, and Danielle Kang (USA) 5th. Korea’s Kim Hyo-joo (26) is ranked 6th. Ko Jin-young, Park In-bee, Kim Sei-young, and Kim Hyo-joo will challenge for the gold medal in women's golf at the Tokyo Olympics, which opens on the 4th at Kasumigaseki Golf Club (par 71, 6,648 yards) in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. ISPS Handa World Invitational champion Pajaree Anannarukarn (Thailand) is ranked 76th.
