[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Porsche Korea announced on the 3rd that it signed a business agreement with the Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Porsche Korea office in Seoul on the 2nd and will participate in the German dual vocational education system program called ‘Ausbildung’.
Ausbildung is an advanced German technical workforce training program that combines on-the-job training provided by companies with theoretical education at vocational schools.
It was first introduced in Korea in 2017 and is now in its fifth year. The program is conducted in three fields: Auto-Mechatroniker (automobile maintenance), Autolackierer (painting), and Karosserie-Mechaniker (sheet metal work).
Through participation in Ausbildung, Porsche Korea plans to systematically support the ‘dreams’ of domestic automotive technical talents by selecting talented individuals and providing on-site training programs that enable them to grow into professional engineers equipped with the brand’s authentic technical skills.
Porsche Korea is scheduled to join the Ausbildung program launching this September and will participate in the Auto-Mechatroniker course in the automobile maintenance field.
Holger Gehrmann, CEO of Porsche Korea, said, “We are pleased that Porsche Korea will participate in the long-established and certified Ausbildung program in Germany, providing high-quality education and the brand’s maintenance technology to young Koreans who will become the future professionals of the automotive industry.”
