BC Card Launches Customized Big Data Analytics Service for Businesses

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] BC Card announced on the 3rd that it has launched a customized big data analysis service for enterprises called 'BC IDEA,' based on its accumulated data capabilities with domestic and international companies, public institutions, and universities.


BC IDEA (BC Intelligence Data for Enterprise Advance) supports business strategy formulation such as marketing by analyzing brand status and competitive relationships through corporate sales trends. It conducts in-depth analysis segmented by customer, channel, and commercial district elements based on BC Card's data of 3.2 million affiliated stores, 36 million customers, and approximately 500 million monthly card transactions.


First, customer analysis consists of market status, brand trends, and consumer behavior. Data tailored to corporate needs is provided by segmenting total usage amount and transaction count in the entire industry, sales status by brand, and customer preferences (visit frequency).


It also advises on the channels that companies should prioritize. Based on sales data by time and day of online and offline sales channels such as online shopping malls and delivery apps, it analyzes customer usage characteristics for each channel and recommends channels that the client company should focus on.


Finally, it provides multidimensional commercial district analysis data based on nationwide information on 1,200 commercial districts and card usage data by about 250 industries owned by BC Card. It predicts store stability and growth potential through analysis of similar stores within a maximum 3 km radius of the area and floating population (income, household status, etc.) for each store.


Byun Hyung-gyun, Head (Executive Director) of BC Card's AI Big Data Division, said, "BC IDEA enables customized in-depth analysis for all industries where card sales occur, such as dining, consumer goods, and distribution," adding, "It will be very helpful not only for target companies in related industries but also for investors who want to invest in these companies."
