IKEA Catalog Switches to Digital... Over 50 Products with 20% Price Reduction

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] From now on, the IKEA catalog will be digitized and introduced on the official online store instead of as a booklet. Additionally, over 50 products will be offered at a 20% discounted price under the name "New Lower Price."

IKEA Korea announced on the 3rd, "With the start of the new fiscal year 2022, the IKEA catalog, which has been loved as a representative publication of IKEA, will be newly transformed into a digital format."

The catalog content will be upgraded and presented on the official online store so that anyone can easily and conveniently access IKEA products. The product information and ideas previously provided in the catalog will be included in the official online store's "Digital Showroom" and detailed pages for each product.

In addition, a new online gallery menu called "House Stories," which features the lives of various people around the world in their homes as previously shown in the catalog, will be introduced. Through the stories contained in each home and home furnishing tips for each space, users can find solutions and related home furnishing product information tailored to various lifestyles. A total of 10 homes will be revealed from next month, the start of the 2022 fiscal year, until August next year.

The "New Lower Price," which has been introduced annually alongside the release of the new catalog, will be newly applied to 52 products. This year, home furnishing products such as the SLATTUM cushion bed frame (229,900 KRW → 199,900 KRW), NESNA bedside table (19,900 KRW → 14,900 KRW), NORDMYRA table (199,000 KRW → 149,000 KRW), and VILDKORN high pillow (9,900 KRW → 7,900 KRW) will be offered at approximately 20% lower prices.

Since last year, IKEA has expanded the "New Lower Price" to twice a year. Accordingly, additional products will be announced in April next year. Discounted products can be purchased at the official IKEA Korea online store and all physical stores.

Frederik Johansson, CEO of IKEA Korea, said, "Through digital home furnishing solutions and products under the 'New Lower Price,' we hope customers can experience home furnishing ideas that perfectly fit their own lifestyle more easily, conveniently, and at lower prices."
