[Asia Economy Reporter Seolgina Cho] SK Telecom announced on the 3rd that it has enhanced the versatility of its video conferencing service ‘MeetUs’ by adding features such as URL link invitations.
The URL link invitation feature allows users to generate a URL that grants access to a video conference after creating it, which can then be shared with invitees. This method is widely used in services like Zoom and Google Meet. Until now, SK Telecom has enabled users to quickly and easily start video conferences by calling contacts as if making a regular phone call, but with this new feature, more participants can be conveniently invited regardless of whether they have installed or signed up for MeetUs.
Accordingly, when the video conference host sends the URL link to participants, existing users can join the meeting simply by clicking the link. For those who have not installed or signed up for MeetUs, they will be directed to the application download page. After signing up and logging in, users can enjoy features such as ▲PUSH invitations via contacts ▲rejoining ongoing video conferences ▲switching devices during meetings. The maximum number of participants allowed in a video conference is 200.
Along with the URL link invitation feature, SK Telecom also added ▲a ‘Guest Participation’ feature that allows joining video conferences without signing up or logging in to MeetUs, and ▲a ‘Meeting ID’ feature that enables joining via meeting ID and password without a URL link. In the future, SK Telecom plans to continuously add user-friendly features such as ▲a ‘Gallery View’ displaying up to 36 participants on one screen ▲a ‘Screen Customization’ feature allowing free adjustment of screen layout ▲support for web browsers and Chromebooks (Chrome OS).
Hyun-A Lee, Head of AI&CO at SK Telecom, said, “We are developing various features to make MeetUs useful across diverse fields,” and added, “We will continue to strive to improve the customer experience of MeetUs.”
