'Job-Linked Support Housing'... 1,192 Units Selected in 7 Locations Including Hwaseong and Yongsan

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 3rd that it has selected seven candidate sites (1,192 households) for the job-linked support housing project in the first half of 2021.

Job-linked support housing is a customized happy housing program that reduces housing cost burdens by providing housing at 72-80% of market prices to young entrepreneurs, industrial complex and small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) workers.

The Ministry established and has been promoting the job-linked support housing plan since November 2018. So far, it has selected candidate sites for 38,000 households, of which 9,000 households have been completed.

This call for applications was divided into three types: startup support housing supplied to entrepreneurs, regional strategic industry support housing supplied to workers in regional strategic industries, and SME worker support housing supplied to SME workers.

For startup support housing, two sites were selected with 250 households: Hwaseong Byeongjeom (140 households) and Anseong Cheongsa Complex District (100 households).

Regional strategic industry support housing includes three sites with 800 households: Seoul Yongsan Seogye (200 households), Busan Dong-gu Choryang, and Jeonnam Yeonggwang Daema (150 households).

SME worker support housing selected two sites with 142 households: Chungnam Geumsan (100 households) and Jeonnam Hwasun Dong-myeon (42 households).

Kim Hongmok, Director of Housing Welfare Policy at the Ministry, explained, "If local governments jointly promote job-linked support housing, it is expected to greatly help in securing excellent talent, revitalizing regional industries, and boosting the local economy through housing stability for workers."

The Ministry selected 22 candidate sites (4,054 households) for job-linked support housing last year. In the second half of this year, it plans to conduct another call for applications targeting local governments nationwide and discover additional sites.
