Advance Reservations for 18-49 Year-Old Adults to Follow 10-Day System Starting August 9
[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 2nd that it will conduct COVID-19 vaccinations for 120,000 people aged 18 to 49 (born between 2003 and 1972) starting from the 9th, using a 10-day rotation system for advance reservations.
This vaccination campaign is being expanded to include young and middle-aged adults to achieve herd immunity early, following the announcement by the COVID-19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team on the 30th of last month.
Advance reservations for the 18 to 49 age group will be conducted from the 9th to the 18th using a 10-day rotation system, where the reservation date corresponds to the last digit of the person's birthdate matching the last digit of the date.
For example, on the 9th, the first day of reservations, people whose birthdate ends with the digit 9 are eligible to make reservations.
Eligible individuals for each date can make reservations daily from 8:00 PM to 6:00 PM the following day. Additional reservations by age group will be available from the 19th to the 21st, and from the 22nd to the 17th of the following month, all eligible individuals can make additional reservations or change their reservations.
Vaccinations for the 18 to 49 age group will be carried out from the 26th of this month to the 30th of next month. Vaccinations with Pfizer or Moderna vaccines can be received at the Suncheon Vaccination Center or one of the 83 designated medical institutions, depending on the individual's preference.
Prior to this, voluntary vaccinations for the 18 to 49 age group who work in food service, public sectors, delivery, large supermarkets, banks, disabled services, foreign workers, and public-facing roles will begin with advance reservations from the 4th, followed by vaccinations starting on the 17th.
Advance reservations can be made online through the COVID-19 Vaccination Reservation System website. For inquiries, guidance is available through the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency call center and the Suncheon Vaccination Call Center.
A Suncheon city official stated, “We hope all citizens actively participate in vaccination to restore daily life through herd immunity.”
