Han Dae-yoon (33, Nowon-gu Office) of the men's shooting national team advanced to the finals in his first-ever Olympics. On the second day of the men's 25m rapid fire pistol qualification at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics held at the Asaka Shooting Range in Tokyo, Japan, he ranked 4th with a cumulative score of 585 points (average 9.750 points). He qualified for the finals, where the top six competitors compete for medals. The final will be held at 2:30 PM that day.

This is the first time a Korean athlete has advanced to the Olympic 25m rapid fire pistol final. The previous best ranking was 8th place by Kim Seo-jun (formerly Kim Jun-hong) at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games. The 25m rapid fire pistol event involves shooting five shots consecutively at five targets within a set time.

In the final, shooters fire five shots every 4 seconds, eight times (40 shots total), to determine the ranking. One point is awarded each time the center of the target (9.7 points or higher) is hit. The perfect score is 40 points.
