The government provides answers to various questions arising in daily life related to personal information.
The Personal Information Protection Commission announced on the 2nd that since August last year, the ‘Personal Information Legal Interpretation Support Center’ established within the commission has handled a total of 10,070 legal interpretation inquiries related to personal information, averaging 965 cases per month.
The commission will organize various personal information-related questions that the public wonders about in daily life into 70 standard interpretation cases of the Personal Information Protection Act and disclose them on the commission’s website and the Personal Information Protection Comprehensive Portal starting from the 3rd. Additionally, these standard interpretation cases will be provided to the ‘National Secretary Answerbot (Chatbot)’ to help the public easily understand the content.
Starting with these 70 standard interpretation cases, the Personal Information Protection Commission plans to continuously discover and establish standard interpretation cases related to personal information closely connected to citizens’ daily lives. Park Sanghee, Secretary General of the commission, stated, “Personal information is closely related to the daily lives of citizens, and requests for legal interpretation are continuously increasing. We will regularly discover interpretation cases to resolve citizens’ questions about personal information and help companies protect and utilize personal information properly.”
