[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Shinhan Card announced on the 2nd that it will gradually introduce eco-friendly material plates made from recycled waste plastic as part of its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management.
Through a partnership with Kona I, the first company to obtain certification from the Ministry of Environment for domestic eco-friendly material plates, the plates will be applied first to popular products such as Deep Dream, Deep Dream Platinum Plus, and Deep Store.
Replacing the plates in these products with recycled plates is expected to recycle approximately 310,000 plastic bottles annually, based on 1.5ℓ PET bottles.
A Shinhan Card official stated, "This is a continuation of Shinhan Card's efforts to strengthen ESG management, including the introduction of eco-friendly wood material films and antibacterial cards," adding, "Through differentiated ESG management linked to Shinhan Financial Group's 'Zero Carbon Drive' strategy, we will fulfill our social responsibility and practice sustainable finance at customer touchpoints."
