Jang Myeongseon, Ewha Womans University Special Appointment Professor, Appointed as Director of the Institute for Gender Equality Education Promotion

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Jang Myeongseon, a special professor at the Gender Law Research Institute of Ewha Womans University Law School, has been appointed as the 9th President of the Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education.

President Jang earned a bachelor's degree in law, a master's degree in constitutional law, and a doctorate in gender law from Ewha Womans University. Since then, she has served as a special professor at the Gender Law Research Institute of Ewha Womans University Law School and has participated as a policy advisory committee member and self-evaluation committee member for the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, a member of the Seoul Gender-Responsive Budget Operation Council, and an operating committee member of the Seoul Single-Parent Family Support Center.

President Jang has been active in various fields such as women's legislation and policy development, expanding women's representation, and discovering women's jobs, and has worked to promote women's rights and spread a culture of gender equality through the preparation of legislative bills. Her term lasts until July 29, 2024.
