‘Concentrate Machine Leader’ Hurom Enters Fruit Distribution Business with Cheonggawon

Operating 10th Branch Across Seoul with 'Fruits You Fall for After Tasting' Theme

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Health kitchen appliance company Hurom is entering the fruit distribution business through its subsidiary Cheonggawon.

Hurom announced on the 2nd that it plans to expand and operate a total of 20 Cheonggawon fruit stores by the second half of this year.

Cheonggawon is a subsidiary established by Hurom in 2019, specializing in the distribution and sale of fruits in small quantities. Hurom currently operates 10 directly managed Cheonggawon stores throughout Seoul.

Cheonggawon is a new concept fruit store with the slogan "Fruits you fall in love with after tasting." Since opening its first store in Mapo in April 2019, it now operates 10 directly managed stores across Seoul, including Gireum, Junggye, Gajaeul New Town, Gwangjang, Myeongil, Deungchon, Misa, Sangdo, and Nokbeon. The plan is to operate an additional 10 stores in the second half of this year, expanding to a total of 20 stores within the year.

According to Hurom, all Cheonggawon stores are directly managed, and all employees are hired as full-time staff. An incentive system based on sales is also in place. Hurom plans to expand its fresh food categories to include vegetables and to increase consumer touchpoints by launching an ordering app.

Additionally, Cheonggawon offers fruit cutting services along with free local delivery. Hurom also sells freshly squeezed juice made with Hurom juicers.

Kim Jaewon, CEO of Hurom, stated, "Hurom has been spreading a healthy juice culture through its juicer business while continuously advancing juicer technology. Through the fruit distribution business, we aim to make it easier and more convenient for consumers to enjoy juice made with Hurom juicers."
