[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Broadcaster Kim Eo-jun recently criticized former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol's "surprise party membership" in the People Power Party on the 2nd, calling it a "lack of political judgment."

On that day, Kim said on his TBS radio show "News Factory," "There were reports suggesting 'Isn't there a political calculation?' but from my observation, Yoon Seok-yeol is someone who cannot make such special calculations or multidimensional political judgments."

He added, "Some say he did it to deliberately make People Power Party leader Lee Jun-seok uncomfortable, or as a power struggle, or for other reasons to intentionally criticize Lee, but that's not true," and said, "He simply does not care about Lee. This is even worse for Lee."

Kim also pointed out, "(People Power Party) district committee chairpersons went to Yoon's campaign without informing Lee. Also, while the leader was absent from the party, the top conservative candidate in the polls just joined the party," and criticized, "This is the 'Lee Jun-seok risk,'" adding, "It means many important matters related to the presidential election could happen without the leader's knowledge."

Earlier, former Prosecutor General Yoon joined the People Power Party on June 30th while Lee was attending local schedules. This was one month after Yoon declared his presidential bid on June 29th.

Meanwhile, Yoon is scheduled to meet with Lee on the same day. This will be their first official face-to-face meeting since Yoon joined the party.

After meeting with Lee, Yoon is expected to visit party secretariat staff, the secretariat labor union, the aides' council, and offices of People Power Party lawmakers in succession to expand his influence within the party.
