Operation of Geumcheon-gu Village Archivist School

From August 18 to October 8, Geumcheon-gu Village Community Archive Operates... 'Recording My Community', 'Well Shooting and Well Recording Village Archives' Training Courses... Apply by August 8 on Geumcheon-gu Village Community Support Center Website

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that the Village Community Support Center (hereinafter referred to as the Village Center) will operate the "Geumcheon Village Archivist School 2nd Term," a village archive record management training course recorded by residents, from August 18 to October 8.

Following last year, the "Geumcheon Village Archivist School," now in its second year, is held at the "Geumcheon-gu Village Community Archive," the first of its kind established nationwide.

Residents who wish to participate can apply by August 8 on the Geumcheon-gu Village Community Support Center website.

This "Geumcheon Village Archivist School" is characterized by being composed of two courses to continuously manage records already created in residents' daily lives.

The "Recording My Community" course, planned for a total of 10 sessions, covers the process of village community and civic group activists recording and managing their own activities. The "Good Shooting, Good Recording Village Archives" course, consisting of 4 sessions, invites oral and photography record experts to provide on-site know-how training.

Last year, the district operated a video-centered record school and produced 12 village archivists in the first term. The videos of 10 shared spaces created by the village archivists can be viewed on the Geumcheon-gu Village Community Support Center YouTube channel.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "We have prepared education where residents lead the process of recording the region and create their own history," adding, "I hope local residents will continuously manage village records and continue recording activities at the Geumcheon Village Archivist School."
