334 Confirmed COVID-19 Cases in Seoul by 6 PM... 61 Fewer Than Previous Day

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Seoul City announced that the number of new COVID-19 confirmed cases in Seoul was counted as 334 from 0:00 to 18:00 on the 1st. Compared to the same time frame, it is 61 fewer than the previous day (July 31) with 395 cases, but 27 more than the previous week on the 25th (307 cases).

The new confirmed cases included 4 from indoor sports facilities in Gangnam-gu, 3 from a sauna in Dongjak-gu, 2 from indoor sports facilities in Seodaemun-gu, 2 from workplaces in Jung-gu, and 16 from other group infections. Accordingly, the cumulative confirmed cases by major group infections increased to 42 at indoor sports facilities in Gangnam-gu, 46 at the sauna in Dongjak-gu, 50 at indoor sports facilities in Seodaemun-gu, and 29 at workplaces in Jung-gu.

Among the new confirmed cases, 208 were identified as contacts of existing confirmed cases and thus not managed as group infections, while 96 cases have unclear infection routes and are under investigation.

The cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Seoul was tentatively counted as 65,166. Among them, 8,248 are subject to isolation treatment. No additional deaths were reported in the recent 18 hours, maintaining the cumulative death toll at 535.
