[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Mokpo Coast Guard has issued a 'Caution' level warning under the risk forecasting system to prevent safety accidents such as drowning, falling into the sea, and mudflat isolation along the coast during the peak summer water play season, urging special attention.
According to the Mokpo Coast Guard, there were a total of 43 coastal safety accidents in the jurisdiction last year, of which 16 cases, accounting for 38%, occurred intensively during the peak summer water play season (July to August).
Accordingly, the Mokpo Coast Guard has issued a 'Caution' level warning under the coastal safety accident risk forecasting system for one month from the 30th of last month to the 31st of next month, and will strengthen patrols focusing on coastal waters and vulnerable spots.
A Mokpo Coast Guard official said, "When visiting coastal waters such as mudflats and rocky shores, it is essential to check local weather and tide information in advance," adding, "To prevent accidents, it is necessary for individuals to thoroughly observe safety rules."
Meanwhile, the coastal safety accident risk forecasting system is a system that notifies the risk in advance to prevent accidents by dividing the risk into 'Caution', 'Advisory', and 'Warning' levels when there is a concern or occurrence of repeated and continuous safety accidents in coastal waters during specific periods.
