Ulsan District Court Sentences Two to Prison for Fabricating False Documents to Claim Land and Obtaining Final Judgment

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The group led by ‘Bong-i Kim Seondal,’ who deceived the court into believing that land with uncertain ownership was theirs and even obtained a court ruling, has been sentenced to imprisonment.

Two individuals in their 50s, who fabricated false documents claiming ownership of unclaimed land and pocketed the profits, were sentenced to prison terms.

On the 31st, according to Ulsan District Court, Criminal Division 2 (Judge Park Jeong-hong) sentenced Mr. A, in his 50s, who was tried on charges of fraud and forgery of private documents, to 10 months in prison, and Mr. B, in his 70s, to 6 months in prison.

Additionally, Mr. C (in his 50s), who was also indicted, was fined 2 million won.

They were charged with creating false documents in November 2017, claiming to have occupied unclaimed land in Buk-gu, Ulsan for 20 years, and filing a claim with the court for ownership transfer based on the completion of acquisitive prescription, which resulted in a confirmed court ruling.

Mr. A proposed this crime to Mr. B after borrowing 30 million won from him and failing to repay, suggesting they sell the unclaimed land to pocket the profits.

Mr. B conspired with Mr. A to fabricate false documents indicating that his father had purchased the unclaimed land but had not completed the ownership transfer.

After receiving ownership through the confirmed court ruling, they sold the land to others and pocketed the profits.

The court stated, “The defendants deceived the court, undermining public trust, and even sold the land to third parties, which is a serious offense. Given Mr. A’s prior record for similar crimes and Mr. B’s leading role in disposing of the land, punishment is inevitable.”
